The sun beating down on your roof causes your attic to heat up.
This is especially true when your roof is a dark color, as most are.
On a warm summer day, the temperature in your attic can easily exceed 120 degrees.
When your attic is hot, your house is hot.
One very effective way to cool your attic with with an attic fan.
An attic fan is not the same things as a whole house fan.
An attic fan moves hot air from the attic to the outside, whereas a whole house fan moves hot air from the house into the attic, which then vents to the outside through the roof and gable vents.
Most attic fans are now solar powered, so they do not even need to be wired up.
You just have one or more installed in your roof, and when the sun is shining, they’re cooling your attic, which in turn cools your entire house.
