Small Bathroom Remodeled in Natural Stone
This is not a standard bathroom space as standard bathroom spaces do not have pillars. This space was nicely remodeled into a bathroom.
The shower area is finished in different size earth tone natural tiles for a very pleasing effect. The shower pan is finished in small pebble stones and while the shower floor area is small, there is a large bench for relaxing. The shower space is sufficiently larger that they are towel bars on the back wall and no need for a door, just the glass partition extending from the wet wall out.
The color contrast of the dark vanity, dark countertop, light earthtone tiles, white bathtub, and natural light coming in from above create a very pleasing effect and a very tranquil space in which to relax in a hot soak.
This works because for whatever reason, the earth tone tans of natural stone tiles always work, especially when joined with lots of natural light coming in from above. This configuration makes the room feel like an extension of the outdoors, brought inside.
Whenever the colors of a room mimic the natural colors of the outside world, it creates a feeling in us of a larger room that is part of the outside, as compared to “just” another room. As humans lived for thousands of years close to nature and (in historical terms) only recently moved “fully” indoors, this makes sense.
When planning your upcoming bathroom remodel give this color scheme some thought. It really works!
