Small Bathroom Remodel Ideas
Precisely because the physical space is smaller, remodeling small bathrooms can be much more challenging then remodeling larger bathrooms. Both in terms of space planning and space use, as well as during the actual remodel itself.
The one pictured came out great.
Light colored subway tile in the shower/tub surround walls extending all the way to the ceiling, a rain style shower head with a light in the shower area.
The open shelving above the toilet helps keep a more open feel to the room. A wall mount vanity would take up more space and make the room feel even smaller.
The light color scheme also helps create a feeling of the room being more spacious than it is.
Please notice the direction in which both the wall and floor tiles run. The tiles are rectangular and the long side of the tile lays sideways across the room. This causes what I’ll call the “stripe effect” which is distances in the direction of stripes seem longer. So laying the tiles that orientation fools the eye into thinking the room is wider than it actually is.
The under mount sink also helps as it does not protrude up over the plane of the countertop, also providing one more detail that helps the room feel more spacious.
When you’re remodeling your small bathroom, this one provides a good template to follow.
