An interesting trend in modern bathroom remodel projects is the more private toilet room for master bathrooms.
When your bathroom is large enough, you can put the toilet in a room of it’s own (as shown) or perhaps minimall put the toilet behind a pony wall.
Some people dislike the view of the toilet when they’re using the others part of the bathroom and this removes it from view.
The advantages are obvious. It’s gone from view and if it’s in a completely separate room what I’ll politely call toilet smells are kept in the separate room.
Doing this of course requires having sufficient space in your bathroom to do it with and there are a few disadvantages (like is after all an endless series of trade offs).
- The private toilet room uses up more square footage than a toilet within the master bathroom.
- A additional bathroom exhaust fan is needed.
Other than that, this is a great idea. Two people can fully share a bathroom even while one has to excuse themselves to use the toilet (which is probably the most private thing we ever do).
It’s easy to see why this trend is become popular in our more luxurious homes.
