Remodeled Tuscan Style Bathroom
When you do a Google image search for “bathroom remodel ideas” and scan the images, it seems that half of the images presented can be described as Tuscan Style with Natural Stone.
Having said that I can see why this design and style is so popular. I find myself drawn to this decor and we’ve done many remodels where this was the desired out come of our clients.
The featured bathroom is finished in a light color natural stone tile whose color is contrasted with the very dark brown of the vanity and the mirror frame.
The use of the natural stone for most visible surfaces except the ceiling: the floor, the shower curb, and halfway up the wall opposite the vanity, creates the effect of a luxurious bath in an Italian villa, which is remarkable consider this is the size of your standard hallway bathroom (5 x 8 x 8).
The dark brown of the vanity and the mirror frame is matched by tile on the top of the shower curb, the surface of the shower pan, and the dark accent tiles running up the back and side walls of the shower.
The fact that you can see to the back of the shower as a result of the frameless glass shower door and panel, and the fact that the shower floor and curb are done in the dark tile creates both a feeling of a larger room and a separation of function. The shower area has both a border and a different color and pattern.
The wall above the half height tile (opposite the vanity) is the same color as the solid accent tiles adjacent to the black accent tiles giving the entire room a more balanced look.
The only thing that would make this room better is the addition of one or maybe two solar tubes, to bring natural light into this windowless bathroom.
