Kitchen cabinets are not necessarily your biggest concern for your kitchen remodeling effort, but they are in the top few.
There is a lot to know about cabinets and these decisions matter. Do you get:
- Stock or custom?
- Wood or stainless steel?
- Painted finish or natural finish?
- Home Depot, Kitchen Showroom, or custom cabinet shop?
You start by creating a list of criteria that is most important to you and your family (durability? self closing? appearance? ease of cleaning? bulk food storage?).
Starting with the full set of cabinet options available to you, eliminate options (types, styles, finishes, etc) one by one based on the criteria you established. Through this process, whittle your options down as you determine what does and does not meet your needs.
