Why would you consider a cast iron kitchen sink?
Because they are indestructable.
Maybe if someone detonated an explosive in your kitchen it might damage your cast iron sink, but short of that, they stand up to whatever beating your family gives it.
The worst thing that can happen is the enamel chips, and that can fixed.
You can even have the entire sink re-enabled if you want to change the color later.
There is one caveat, at least for me, and that is I would not under mount a cast iron sink. They are very heavy.
I’m not even sure they make them.
So if you want the indestructibleness of cast iron, you have to accept an over mount sink, which means there will be a ridge between the countertop and the basin.
