Remodel Kitchens – Milpitas – Kitchen Faucet Configurations
This post focuses on different configurations for kitchen faucets.
The most important aspects of configuration are the mounting and the handles or valves.
The mounting matters because different faucets are plumbed in different ways. Some need one hole, some need two, some three, and some need four.
If you are upgrading a faucet, you may be limited by your existing mounting style and number of holes. You can always buy a plastic cover for a now unused hole, but it looks like a plastic cover, which some people do not like.
If you are remodeling and you’ve ordered your sink and/or countertop before selecting your faucet, you may need to fill every existing hole (to avoid the plastic cover syndrome), or maybe you must drill a new hole.
For this reason, faucets should be selected with the sink, and before the countertop.
Some details about configurations are below.
There are three ways faucets are mounted; counter, sink, and wall.
Counter: The faucet sits on the counter.
Sink: The faucet sits on the back edge of the sink.
Wall: The faucet protrudes from the wall behind the sink.
Handles or Valves
Some faucets have a single handle for controlling both hot and cold water.
Others have separate valves for each.
Now that you know more about faucet configurations, you should be able to make a better selection for you kitchen remodel.
And speaking of your kitchen remodel, we would appreciate an opportunity to be of service to you.
