Deep soaking tubs are one of the best inventions EVER!
My issue with standard American bathtubs is they’re too shallow. It’s hard to be full wet all over. If you like this (as I like this) and you have a fairly standard sized bathroom (i.e.: not a lot of space for a tub), deep soaking tubs are the answer.
The Solera Group provides expert bathroom remodeling services in the greater San Jose metro area.
Is there anything you need to know before committing to one?
The plumbing is non standard. The plumbing bringing the hot and cold water in will come out of the floor or out of the wall, so it requires special faucets, but they’re readily available. As this tub sits directly on the floor, it requires a floor drain, conceptually similar (but implemented differently) to a shower drain.
The huge plus is they come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes. Round, square, rectangular, maybe others, and they fit into fairly small spaces.
The link below should show you more than ever dreamed existed.
Need a nice relaxing soak in a tub of hot water at the end of your long day? A deep soaking tub may be just what you need.
