How does one best start their small bathroom remodeling project?
By collecting ideas!
As much of the appeal of your bathroom is visual, you want to start by scanning pictures to find styles, patterns, colors, etc that appeal to you.
The Solera Group provides expert bathroom remodeling services in the greater San Jose metro area.
There was a time when you did this with magazines and you cut out pictures you liked and saved them.
Today, in the age of the Internet, there are many websites that serve this purpose:
- Google Image Search: Enter “pictures of bathroom remodels” into the Google search engine, and once you see a result page, select “Images” from the menu at the top of the result page. This will give you untold screens worth of images you can easily and quickly scan through.
- Pinterest: Is an image oriented website. Create an account, login, then search for “bathroom remodel” or similar terms. As with the Google image search, this will result in hundreds if not thousands of images for you to scan through.
- Houzz: This website is devoted to nothing but remodeling. A huge plus of this website is when you see something you like, you easily add it to your Houzz “idea book” for later reference.
- Zillow digs: Another visual search of remodeled bathrooms.
Of course, once you’ve collected a bunch of ideas that appeal to you, you now need to go through them and make decisions and trade offs.
And that (perhaps not surprisingly) is the topic of the next post.
