When your glass shower enclosure does not have metal trim pieces on the edges, this is referred to as a frameless shower enclosure.
Frameless shower enclosures create a more open less cluttered look.
They help you create a feeling of greater depth, which is especially useful when you’re bathroom is small.
They tend to be much heavier and sturdier than framed shower enclosures and have less trim that needs to match other trim pieces in your bathroom. Specifically just the hinges for the door and the brackets that hold the panels that do not move.
The image shows a frameless shower with one wall of glass, but the concept is the same even when your shower has 2 or 3 walls of glass.
Frameless shower enclosures are:
- Less visually cluttered
- Helps create as feeling of the bathroom being larger
- Due to there being no frame, they’re easier to keep clean as there is no frame to create a ledge on which grim can accumulate.
- Helps maintain a higher resale value of your home (bathrooms and kitchens are the most scrutinized rooms with new home buyers).
I can only thing of one:
- Frameless shower enclosures cost more than framed.
