This post is part of a series about bathroom remodeling as well as part of a sub-series on toilets (yes, toilets!). To access either of the lead posts please select one of the links below.
Two piece toilets is where a tank is bolted onto the bowl section. Those are the two pieces. They were originally designed so a fair amount of water is needed initiate the flush.
Due to our ever increasing need to save fresh water, the newest variation of two piece toilets is the dual flush toilet, the control for which can be seen in the image.
The half flush uses half as much water and is intended for liquid waste. The full flush uses the full tank of water and is intended for solid waste.
Since liquid waste is expended more often, this is an excellent way for your household to use less water.
Except for the dual flush mechanism, this is a standard regular toilet. Nothing special. They come in the same styles, sizes, etc, and over time you save money on your water bill.
They’re a bit more expensive to buy, but overtime you will more than recoup that initial difference in cost as your monthly water bill will be less.
This is a no brainer. When you’re buying a two piece toilet. get a dual flush.
