Laugh if you will, but when you feel compelled to stimulate specific activities or behaviors, you can alter the color of your surroundings to do so.

Increase Productivity
The most productive color is a somewhat dark blue. If your home has an office space you should color it blue. If you want to encourage yourself or your family members to “get up and get on with it”, this is a good color for bathrooms as well.
Tranquility
On the other hand, if your bathroom is your sanctuary where you want to relax and unwind after a long day, go for lavender. It calms and sooths.
Increase Metabolism, Increase Energy
This is the strangest one of all, but it’s backed up by science. If you want to step up your metabolism and feel a higher sense of energy, color your environment blue. Since most of us start our day in the bathroom, a yellow bathroom gives you a little extra boost of energy first thing in the morning.
Increased Appetite
If you have kids in the house who are picky eaters, teenagers who think they can skip breakfast, etc, immerse them in red. Definitely in the dining room, and also possibly in their bathroom. Why red increases our appetites I don’t know, but this again is backed by science.
