Do not rush the process
Once you become committed to the idea of a new bathroom, if you’re like the rest of us you develop a sense of impatience. You’ve thought, designed, selected, etc, and you can almost see and feel the new room. The problem is the new room is maybe 4 or 8 weeks away.
Resist the temptation to rush things. Take your time. Check things, double check, triple check.
In order to save money, make sure you do things once and once only. If you want to really lose control of your budget. rush into things so you do everything twice.
Do not skimp on quality craftsmanship
We sometimes use the phrase skilled labor to describe bathroom remodelers, and while some are skilled, other remodelers are craftsmen. When you find a craftsman quality contractor, pass him (or her) to use a less skilled less qualified person. When you’ve spent a small fortune on tile, do you really want a poor quality install?
